ANDY CORNISH

Co-Founder of Larapinta Connect PTY

A lifelong football fan, Andy played a pivotal role in establishing the Western Sydney Wanderers Football Club in 2012 and now returns to support the Wanderers Foundation’s impact across the Western Sydney community. Originally from the United Kingdom, he brings extensive leadership experience across multiple industries, including serving as Chief Executive Officer of Green Flag, where the company became the first sponsor of the English National Football Team, and as Chief Executive of Personal Insurance at IAG, during which NRMA Insurance became the Wanderers’ founding Major Partner.

Since retiring from his executive career, Andy has dedicated himself to community initiatives in Western Sydney and beyond. He co-founded Larapinta Connect, a program helping leaders and executives explore purpose and legacy through a transformative journey along the Larapinta Trail. Andy also serves as Chairperson for ANCAP Safety and as Company Director for Avant Insurance Limited and The Doctor’s Health Fund.

As Chair of the Wanderers Foundation Development Committee, Andy will lead efforts to raise funds and expand awareness of the club’s charitable initiatives.

Deepak Sethuram

Senior Director of enablesGroup

Deepak brings over 25 years of experience across the Consulting, Investment Banking, Resources, and Infrastructure sectors in Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. He has worked with Fortune 500 companies and international governments, delivering major projects valued in the billions across Australia, APAC, and the Middle East–North Africa regions.

Over the past eight years, Deepak has successfully led a boutique consulting and advisory business, supporting clients across diverse industries. Alongside his professional pursuits, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to philanthropy, dedicating his time to supporting charitable causes and leading fundraising initiatives in partnership with key community and business leaders.

A proud product of Western Sydney, Deepak is passionate about sport and the role it plays in uniting and empowering communities. His appointment reflects his enthusiasm for engaging with local leaders and driving programs that deliver meaningful outcomes for the region.

Lisa Vasic

Managing Director of Transaction Banking at ANZ Group

Lisa is a highly accomplished finance executive with over 15 years of experience leading key areas of banking, including Corporate and Institutional Banking, Transactional Banking, and Products. As Managing Director of Transaction Banking at ANZ Banking Group, she oversees the development of working capital and digital solutions for clients across ANZ’s international network and in Australia and New Zealand. Lisa has a proven track record in transformational leadership, building new businesses, and implementing digital strategies to support client success.

Her inclusive leadership style focuses on developing the right skills in her team and fostering diverse, high-performing teams that enable customers, stakeholders, and communities to thrive. In 2023, she was accepted into the Chief Executive Women network, recognizing her impact and leadership within the industry.

Originally from Auckland and raised in Sydney’s West, Lisa’s values are shaped by the diversity and aspirations of her community. As a foundation member and passionate supporter of the Wanderers, she and her family are committed to the club’s success and its role in strengthening and connecting the Western Sydney community.

David Harding

Head of Strategy Australia at Assystem

David leads a team of public and business policy specialists, advocating across all levels of government on behalf of NSW businesses and nearly 100,000 Australian member businesses. He also serves on the national group’s Executive Leadership Team, providing strategic guidance and leadership across policy initiatives.

In addition to his professional roles, David contributes to a wide range of advisory and governance positions. He is an NSW Advisory Councillor to SmartNSW and the 24 Hour Economy, represents customer interests at the Australian Energy Regulator, and participates in multiple trade and industry groups and government taskforces. He also serves as a Director of the national First Nations charity Engineering Aid Australia, is on the board of Apprenticeship Support Australia, and acts as Honorary Secretary of the Britain Australia Society.

A proud supporter of Western Sydney, David advises the Western Sydney Collaborative Leadership Programme, sponsors the Western Sydney Community Forum and Casula Powerhouse Mil-Pra Awards, and has been a long-term supporter of the Wanderers Foundation. A submarine veteran, he also brings extensive experience leading deals, projects, programs, and businesses across both the public and private sectors.

GABRIELLE UPTON

The Hon Gabrielle Upton FAICD FRSN

Gabrielle Upton brings 30 years of experience across law, banking, government, and higher education. She began her career as a corporate lawyer with Herbert Smith Freehills and DLA Piper and as a banker with Deutsche Bank and Toronto-Dominion Bank in New York, before moving into senior roles in the NSW Government, including as the first female Attorney General, Minister for the Environment, Local Government and Heritage, Minister for Family and Community Services, and Minister for Sport and Recreation between 2011 and 2023. She also served as Deputy Chancellor of the University of New South Wales from 2006 to 2009.

In her current roles, Gabrielle is a Non-executive Director of The Florey Institute of Neuroscience, Netball Australia, and O’Connell Street Associates, and serves as a Strategic Advisor to King Wood Mallesons and Proto Axiom. She is also an Advisory Board Member of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Quantum Biotechnology and has held positions on key corporate and government advisory committees, including the Federal Government’s Corporate Markets and Advisory Committee.

Gabrielle holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from UNSW, an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business, and completed Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program in 2022. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Royal Society of New South Wales, and was recognized with a 2024 UNSW Women Trailblazer Award, reflecting her outstanding leadership and impact across sectors.
